EMO lookish ?

ok so i have like the social collision skinny jeans and jeans like that and im trying to get more of the emo look. thats just wht im into and i have like some cool belts and buckles but like whats up with the whole sideways or backwards belts and ya just help me i need help trying to look more emoish cause its what im into

okay well here's what you can do if you need ideas on how to be scene or emo go to photobucket and type in for the search "emo boys" or if your a girl "emo girls"





i would recomend going to youtube and typing in "how to be scene" or "how to be emo", or just "emo boys" and "scene girls", the videos are nice because some have hundreds of pictures in a video while others are instructional videos

i would recommend looking at the babycakes clothes to give you an idea, they are pretty emo, in a cool way, i mean i doubt that anyone has these cool clothes in your town





but yeah, for makeup (if a girl) hair and clothing youtube would be your best bet..








my only concern is that you actually like this style and aren't just trying to be cool, okay be yourself i mean i like the emo ish look, but that doesnt mean that im neccesarily emo

I'm "scene" cuz that's what I am, and I'm not depressed or a cutter. I think that's an old stereotype and IDK anyone nowdays that cuts, and most of them aren't depressed.





I have a pair of Social's, but there's a lot of better skinny jeans out there that fit better than them, and most of them are girl's jeans. Emo kids aren't afraid of girl's jeans. Some are expensive sk8er jeans, but better yet, get the Venice Skinny from Pac Sun, or Jasmine from Anchor Blue. Or LUX or BDG skinnies from Urban Outfitters. Or Levi's 503 Skinny or 504 Skinny.... They all fit better than the jeans from Hot Topic, in general, although HT jeans are slowly getting better.





Yeah, cool belts are cool, tho I always wear mine in front. Mostly girls I know that wear them sideways, for some reason.





I like the engineer's hat or jeep cap better than baseball caps, and take off the gold sticker. I don't think Scene kids wear hats with the size sticker still on them. That's more urban.





And wear slim fitting hoodies, and you can layer hoodies if it's cold. "Slim fitting" are more like "vintage fit" in some stores. I have several A%26amp;F, AE, 21, or Delia's girl's hoodies in nice prints or colors and nobody can tell, but they're slim fitting, lightweight so I can wear them more places than thicker guy's hoodies, and they're shorter so they don't cover your butt....





And I always wear Chucks, in colors or plaids. Doesn't matter what colors you wear with others, as long as they go together without looking like you're trying to make things match.





So that's it. Shaggy hair, sorta darkish and hanging in your face, necklaces, band tee, slim hoodie, studded belt, wristbands, bandana in pocket, skinny jeans, Chucks.... Pretty much covers what I wear.





Stereotype? Probly, but I like it. Are others wearing it too? Probly. Am I copying them? No. Not any more than I'm copying them by wearing jeans, and socks, and undies.... I mean, there's only so many things to wear, right? Should you wear a sport shirt, or a tee, or a sweater? Skinny jeans or baggy ones? Loafers or Chucks/tennies/sk8er shoes? Crew cut or shaggy hair?





Emo or Scene kids tend to be slimmer and wear slimmer clothes. You can wear baggy stuff, but what's the point, and then... you're imitating someone else, someone you're not....





So just be you (or who you think you are) and browse Emo sites for ideas of how to coordinate the stuff you're going to wear anyway....





Oh yeah, if you want, you can wear nail polish, but not on all fingers, and use cheep polish from Wal-Mart or some place so it chips easily. It's gay if it looks too neat.


And eyeliner is good, cuz it makes your eyes pop, but it's tricky at first. If you don't use too much, most ppl notice your eyes but can't really tell it's eyeliner. Gerard Way wears too much, for what I mean....
Reply:well...y dont u just try being urself, rather than try and fail to be emo, don't try and force urself into an image. but hey, just go out and buy badges, converse, alot of eyeliner and eye make up, doc martins, band t-shirts, black hoody, and straighten your hair.
