How many U.S. World War 2 Veterans are still alive?

I recently saw the honoring of Frank Buckles as the last surviving U.S. World War One Veteran, and it made me wonder how many American World War 2 Veterans are still alive? Anybody know how many?

Last statistic I know of. My dad was a WWII veteran, and I took up the "hobby" of being a WWII historian, They are dying rapidly.





and to correct another's poster. 16,000,000 thats million Americans, put on the American uniform to serve.

Reply:There were twelve million who served during World War Two. For the past two years they have been dying at the rate of 1,000 to 7,000 per week. You do the math.
