Caught in the act?

ok so i am just wondering if i can call the poliece on a person who doesn't put their three year in a car seat nor even buckles them in and lets them pull on the door handle when a child safey isn't on. this kid is going to fall out of the car! or something just as terrible. i want to know if i do call the poliece can they do anything about it or do they have to catch the parent in the act? I think this is a form of neglect, neglecting the childs safety!

Oh yeah they claim they don't put the 3 year old in the car seat because he screams and throws a fit whenever they do. that is just stupid to me. i think its safe to say they shouldn't have bred in the first place.

Caught in the act?
Yup, you're right, it is neglect....unfortunately in America, a person needs a license to drive a car, needs registration to vote, but ANY idiot can conceive a child.

Try to encourage your friend to use the car seat and if that doesn't work call child services. I hate to encourage snitching, but if something happens to the child, you'll never forgive yourself.

Luck!
Reply:umm to me i would call the cops becuase it is wrong but u might also be able to call social services that would be smart because if that family does anything eles unsafe the Social Services will take the kid away and The soical services will not tell them who told them about it so u can do what is right and tha tkid can stay safe
Reply:I'd say go ahead! It is extremely dangerous for the child to be out of the seat, especially with pulling on the handle. Atleast tell the police...they should keep an eye out. Those parents need to learn how to discipline their child, and the child is going to have to learn.

that is child endangerment as far as im concerned
Reply:yous should keeps in yours mine that alots of peoples can aford carchairs for they ninos. tapes works just good like the fancy carchairs.
Reply:a child not being put in a car seat is illegal and i know that for a fact...same thing as not wearing a seat belt. i would probably either call the police if not child services because the child could die from not being in a car seat with no seat belt it is a form of neglect i mean the child could open the door when the car is moving and fall out.. just because the child throws a fit is no excuse and i would know because i have a child too and shes almost 2 and she throws fits alot but if its something serious like that let them fuss and comfort them the best you can otherwise i think its neglect. well good luck.
Reply:i aint sure if you have to catch them in the act, but i think that it is child abuse when you dont put a child in a proper saftey seat.
Reply:You can call the police and ask them if they have to be caught in the act. Just ask to speak to an officer about a case of child endangerment and the police can tell you more about what the requirements are to prosecute a case. Also you can call child services and report them there. PLEASE do something! You can't just wait until it's too late and then say "I told you so".
Reply:I would think you would be able to call the police or even child protection services. The child is in danger for not being buckled up in a moving car
Reply:report the parents to the police;the child might end up dead one day. they're NOT to listen to the child but deal with the screamming and temper tantrum to protect the child.
Reply:I suggest calling child services, as they are well equipped to deal with child endangerment. I would imagine that you have an agency such as DCFS in your area where you can file a report about this neglect.
Reply:WOW SOMEONE WHO THINKS LIKE ME!!!

i HAVE TRIED TO CALL THE COPS MANY TIMES ON PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND YOU HAVE TO CATCH THE PERSON IN ACT.

I AGREE WITH YOU SO MUCH, IF YOU DONT PUT YOUR CHILD IN A CAR SEAT, THEN IT SHOULD BE A FORM OF NEGLECT , BUT, ITS NOT. WHICH IS SAD!
Reply:ya before something happens, god luck.
Reply:I agree, it is very hazardous to the child's safety. I would call the authorites if I were you, otherwise that child may lose their life in the act. It is the law to wear a seat belt and have a young child strapped into a car seat (if required) at ALL times. You don't have to have them caught in the act, but evidence would support the theroy. Save a life!
Reply:hmmmmm don't call the police, if you told them that's enough, maybe tell them again...
Reply:you should!

that's terriable!

and bad parenting!

they should not be responsible for a child!

call the poliece and if they can't do anything about it ask who you should call maybe child services
Reply:The best thing to do is call the police at a time when you can report their exact location.

If I knew they were on route from A to B, I'd call and report that a car with that description was traveling on whatever road with a child unrestrained, etc.

You could also request the help of Dept. of Family Services. They may not do anything, but at least there would be documentation for future reference.
Reply:I doubt there is much they can do unless they can catch them in the act. Your word alone will not bring charges and I agree, people like that shouldn't bring children into this world.
Reply:I wouldn't call the police, you could try calling Children Services, they could probably help you more. That is definitely a problem though, children need to be in a safety seat! You should really do something, its something that shouldn't be neglected!
Reply:they are being very irresponsible parents and let the child control. Scary!!!!! their are child protection units make some phone calls and take it from there. If you never say anything and he falls out you will live with that forever.
Reply:HI, YES CALL THE POLIECE. THE POLIECE MIT HAVE TO CATCH THEN IN THE ACT. BUT I AM SURE THEY CAN CATCH THEM IN THE ACT. TELL THEM TO LET THE CHILD SCREAMS ALL HE WANTS AS LONG AS HE IS SAFE.
Reply:you can indeed call the police for child endangerment
Reply:Our state has an 800 number to call if you see a child out of their car seat. KIds will fuss when they're in the car seat, but it's one of the ONLY things I've been consistent about. Call the police on a non-emergency line and see what advice they give you.

Reply:In most places you are legally obligated to report suspected child abuse, if you do not you can go to jail.

Nevermind the moral obligation
