Yea they do, I didn't know that when i first started working for them like a month ago. But yea we get paid $4.35/hr there so we count on our commission...thats why when someone walks int othe store they start throwing jeans and shirts and shoes at you everywhich way. Needless to say I put in my two weeks notice on the second day! :)

Reply:It depends on the type of belts actually. I wear some of my hipster and thicker belts with the buckles at the side, as it looked nicer and also more comfortable, esp with those belts with a huge buckle, cos they will dig into my tummy if i bend forward.
If it's those thin normal leather belts, i tend to wear the buckle at the front, cos it looked more normal and nicer that way. but i have some friends who wear those at the side, cos they say the buckle will make them look fat esp if their top cover the belt buckle

Is there anything I can do to fix my buckled wall to wall carpeting?
My wall to wall carpeting, installed 5 years ago just before I bought my house, is a sea of waves. I think the previous owner did it himself, so i have no recourse to the store or carpet vendor to fix it. What causes this (humidity?) and can I save this otherwise nice carpeting? it is in my master bedroom and 2nd floor hallway

This IS an easy fix. IF you have a carpet stretcher... notice, I did NOT say carpet, or knee 'kicker'... those will mess your back up something fierce, lol.
All you need to do, is stretch the carpet, and trim off the excess. You can rent a stretcher from most places that rent tools. Im providing a link to what one looks like. Ive got one of these, and its sooooo much nicer than using a knee kicker!!
Typical procedure is stretch to a flat wall, with no door openings...that way youre not having to deal with how to handle the carpet around door frames, etc. Use roofing nails to hold the carpet in place temporarily, wherever you need to, if you need to (like if you needed to stretch it two directions)... do NOT drive them all the way in, lol....
If you decided to hire someone, this would run about $30 - $40 per room usually. A single room can be done pretty quickly, if there is no heavy furniture to move. Most furniture, like chairs, tables, etc... can be left in the room.. you just need to clean off that wall you are working towards.

How to clean vomit out of a carseat?
My daughter got really sick last night, unfortunatly while we were out. On the drive home despite my best attempts to catch vomit in a grocery sack her car seat strap and buckles got coated. Inside the between the leg buckle too.
Any ideas on how to get the stench of vomit out? Or should I just buy a knew one? I used clorox wipes and got all the solids off, but it still smells.
My daughter will probably out grow this seat and move onto a booster next year so I thought about maybe just replacing it with a toddler seat that can convert to a booster.
How to clean vomit out of a carseat?
You need to check the carseat manual for appropriate ways to clean the cover and harness straps. You can NOT put the straps in the washing machine or use harsh cleaners. Most manufacturers say to spot clean with a MILD cleanser (think dish soap or hand soap.) - you should not submerge the straps in water.
If you clean them this way and they still smell, lay them out in the sun. It does wonders to get the smell out.
I always just throw the cover in the tub with cold water and gentle cleanser. I scrub, then rinse multiple times. The shell can be simply wiped out.
If you still want to replace your DDs seat - the Graco Nautilus is great. It harnesses to 65lbs, then converts to a booster!

My son spits up in his car seat at least once a week and I can still get it clean and it doesn't smell. can you take the car seat cover off? Every car seat should have a removable car seat cover... put it in the washing machine by itself and wash it. As for the car seat shell, just take soap and water and wash that off... If it's on your actual car seat then try sponging it with a damp rag and a little soap. Leave the car windows open to air out the smell, as well.

Any experienced horse people out there? I have read it is best to start halter training at this young age. Some say not to use nylon. Have seen some with buckles. We use a simple nylon rope type, no buckles on the mom.

How do I prevent buckling on a rug that is on wall to wall carpeting?
Rugs really aren't designed to be used on carpet. However, you could try to purchase a rubber mesh designed to keep rugs from slipping on hardwood floors. Stretch the rug on the mesh and it may help keeping it from buckling. If you are putting something heavy on the rug (ie, table/chair/etc) then forget it. It will buckle no matter what.

if you dont have a belt with a press stud loop that holds the buckle you have to go to a boot maker or one of those multi service stores and they will but it on for you.

Reply:the wood is expanding and was not given enough of an expansion gap or the wood is taking on moisture. I'd run a dehumidifer for a few days to see if that fixes it and if it doesn't the wood needs to be recut to allow for expansion.
You could nail it but is the wood is buckling the nail will not hold for long and will leave a nail hole/mark.
if the wood is 3/4 in solid you can screw it down from underneath. but this can split the wood also.
Reply:Get the contractor to redo the whole thing,,,,The job was shoddy because the parquet tiles were laid too close together. A change in weather or temperature will cause it to buckle. Don't drive a nail into the parquet cause it will prolly split %26amp; if it doesn't it'll look ugly. %26amp; it doesn't solve the problem. If it happen in a small area, it will definately happen at other areas too.
Worse comes to worse, take up the part where the floors are buckling %26amp; sand the sides of the tiles. Then glue it back to the floor. Your local DIY shop should be able to recomment to you what are the most suitable material to use for putting back the tiles.

Go to a rental place on a damp day(it buckle more then) and ask for a carpet strecher. It has claws to hold te carpet and a pad for you to hit it with your knee. You lift the carpet off the nail strips along the wall. You put your weight on the claw and knee the crap out of it. then you restick the carpet down to the nail strips that run along the wall.

I can't remember the verse or chapter, but I believe it is in 1st or 2nd letter of Peter. He wrote them in a time when the church was growing and beginning to meet persecution.
Therefore, THE REAL BUCKLE OF THE BIBLE BELT IS IN STANDING DIFFICULTY AND NEVER GIVE UP IN FOLLOWING CHRIST BECAUSE HE WILL RETURN.

I know there are messenger bags... but I'm actually looking for one that straps across the chest... and has a buckle on it... it's a particular brand... and my friend wants it... but I don't know the company name... if anyone can link it, that'd be great.

Is it normal for an infant to scream at the top of his lungs when placed in carseat?
I watch a baby, he will be 6 months at the end of January. I take him with me when I take my son to preschool, and whenever he is put into his carseat, he throws a fit, the minute he is placed in it before he is even buckled in. And I'm not talking little baby cries, I am talking full out screaming at the top of his lungs! And we have to listen to this the whole car ride, other than the rare occasion that he falls asleep. His buckles aren't too tight, I even got those little dangly toys thinking they would amuse him. I don't understand it, neither of my sons did this. They would go in the carseat, coo, look around, and fall asleep after about 5 minutes of being in the car. I have been watching him since he was 2 months old, and he has done this since day one. I know his mom is getting very frustrated, and it is frustrating for me and my sons as well, to listen to the screaming the whole way to and from preschool. Any ideas or input is appreciated!

My oldest grandson reacted the same way to car-seats. It was embarrassing the amount of strength it took for me to even get him buckled into his car-seat. He hated it and screamed as long as he had the energy. On longer trips he would eventually wear out and hush. None of the other grandkids acted like that. My only suggestion would be to turn up the radio. Maybe he will become a music lover. By the way, my "screaming" grandson is 10 years old now and he's well behaved and intelligent. When we talk about how he acted as a baby he just shakes his head and says, "I don't remember!" Poor boy.

Reply:i think it is normal. the fact that you are strapping a child to the seat makes him feel trapped. there's no human touch to comfort him there and he does not understand why he has to sit there instead of with his mum.

I know my daughter doesn't like to get into her car seat (7 months old) but as soon as I pick up the car seat to put it in the car or even riding in the car, she's perfectly fine. The child's mom might want to call the pediatrician and ask if there is any motion sickness medicine she can give her son for when he rides in the car.

Reply:My 4th baby - now 19 months - was the same way. He screamed every time we went anywhere - you just have to let him grow out of it. Is there a little snack he likes - like those puffs - or have you ever given him a sucker? I kept a bag of dum dums in the car and gave him one when we went anywhere. That kept him quiet for a little while! Good luck - I know how frustrating it is!

Is it possible to take the car seat out of the car and have it in the house for bub to look at/play with? Perhaps being in a different setting may help ease him into it? Have you tried draping a different fabric over the carseat? Or strapping it in a different position in the car?
I think because bub has a negative association with the carseat, you need to create some positive associations with it. Is there perhaps a food that bub enjoys feeding himself? eg a rusk or something? Could you put bub on the floor next to the car seat while he's eating his rusk? That way, he can see the seat, out of it's normal context, while he is doing something he enjoys. Eventually, he may move towards the seat and wipe the rusk all over it. That's a great step forward to him liking the seat!
Small progressions to change the associations and I think you can get this baby into his seat happily :D

I didn't treat my skin allergy early, now what do I do about scars?
My skin is alleric to Nickel. First my ears got infected from piercings twice when I was young. Then in high school, I got a bad rash from wearing a silver watch.
Two years ago, it got worse: I get rashes on my stomach from jean studs and belt buckles. But my skin feels fine if I use hydro-cortison cream, bandaids, and cover up the jean studs/belt buckle with polish.
Well, I'm lazy, and just when my rashes are about to heal, I stop covering the studs and wearing band-aids. So the rashes have never completely healed. And I'm just now realizing that I've been fighting this for TWO YEARS.
And needless to say, I have scars. I know I need to see a dermatologist, but I can't afford to right now.
I'm ready to take this seriously and finally heal these rashes. How do I reduce the appearance of these scars on my own? And what type of professional treatments are available?

I never knew that scubing with loofas or cleaning with acne solution would help a scar since that's what some folks earlier suggested. I would say to obviously continue to cover with the bandaids, and then cocoa butter, preferable shea butter is best to help clear up scars. They have to be pure though no watered down mess. They sell 100% pure african shea butter on amazon. com for 9.95. It's great.

Where can I have a custom designed leather biker jacket made?
What I am looking for is essential a classic black double diamond (Asymmetrical zipper) cruiser style jacket with the belted waist and multiple pockets, but what I want are a number of buckles up the front of the jacket. Meaning that once the jacket is zipped, there would be two to three more buckles over the zipper. I saw a jacket like this about 15 or so years ago and have always wanted one. Now that I could really use it, I can't find one. So I guess my only alternative is to have one custom made. If anyone knows where I can find a place that makes custom designed, made to order leather biker jackets, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Reply:what you should do is not force it by pulling it too much. what you have to do is push it in and then pull it out again. i know this sounds wierd, but it works. if that doesn't work, then u should go to an auto repair place where they will fix it for you and hopefully not charge you anything if it takes 2 seconds. i hope that this helps you.

I use a rope halter because it gives me more control over my horse when I am leading her. What does everyone else use?

I only use rope halters...and I'm not talking about the cheaper $15.00 ones. My experience with the cheaper rope halters is that they will stretch if your horse spooks and their head will slip out. And yes these were thin ones but my horse didn't care. The rope halters I'm using now are great! They are made of a more durable rope I think this rope is used for boats. Anyways I got them at Jeffers.com . One of them was just tested the other day and it held up great. It didn't stretch and my horse gave up after 3 yanks.

If the horse doesn't lead well or pay attention to me when leading, I will use a knotted rope halter on them %26amp; do exercises to train them better. All mine currently lead very well, so I can just use the regular nylon halters on them with no problems.

I've only used a rope halter on one horse, because apparently without it he doesn't lead well, and he was an angel for me with it on so I guess it works. Generally I just say use whatever works for your horse, but don't preach about it to others 'cause it might not work for them.

i feel i have the same control with both but on the leadropes i use a snap lead but when i need more control i use one with a chain around the nose.
Reply:I use just a standard halter unless i doing ground work then i use a rope halter, since the knots hit pressure points i dont want my babies to think they are doing something wrong when they are just trying to relax (if the pressure hits them right).

Reply:I think rope halters are more suited for horses in training since they apply more pressure on the nose then a regular Nylon halter would but if you can control your horse better using a rope halter then keep uising one also some people use a stud chain with a normal halter for control also which goes around the noseband for added pressure.

I've used rope halters and nylon halters too though. Rope halters are great, but I always cross-tie so they're impractical for me. And nylon... eh, fun if you want a certain color, but I just think leather looks classier. I had a nicely made (but not much more expensive than nylon) leather halter for years and barely ever cleaned it, it got used every day and was wonderful. Plus if you ever need to turn a horse out in a halter for whatever reason... nylon and rope aren't safe for that, but leather is.
Reply:i actually use both:) I have rope halters hanging in the tack room for everyday catching and leading and a fe win my truck as emergancy halters...ie the hors egets out....etc. I use the others for cross tieing and shipping. Mainly b/c the snaps on the side. I do like rope halter b/c they can get a horses attention a little quicker and can be easy on the horse at the same time. If you look at a pic of my appy you will see what a normal halter did to him due to his former owner's neglect. I NEVER leave a halter on an unsupervised horse that is untied. I try hard not to leave a horse tied and unsupervised but sometimes it's a neccessary evil to do so. but in my opinion, both are good

Generally I just say use whatever works for your horse, but don't preach about it to others 'cause it might not work for them.

I've used rope halters and nylon halters too though. Rope halters are great, but I always cross-tie so they're impractical for me. And nylon... eh, fun if you want a certain color, but I just think leather looks classier. I had a nicely made (but not much more expensive than nylon) leather halter for years and barely ever cleaned it, it got used every day and was wonderful. Plus if you ever need to turn a horse out in a halter for whatever reason... nylon and rope aren't safe for that, but leather is.
Reply:i actually use both:) I have rope halters hanging in the tack room for everyday catching and leading and a fe win my truck as emergancy halters...ie the hors egets out....etc. I use the others for cross tieing and shipping. Mainly b/c the snaps on the side. I do like rope halter b/c they can get a horses attention a little quicker and can be easy on the horse at the same time. If you look at a pic of my appy you will see what a normal halter did to him due to his former owner's neglect. I NEVER leave a halter on an unsupervised horse that is untied. I try hard not to leave a horse tied and unsupervised but sometimes it's a neccessary evil to do so. but in my opinion, both are good

How to measure a girth?
When you measure a girth do you count the ends of the buckles? My girth doesn't say the size on it and I want to get a new girth (because my current one is elasticless nylon and doesn't fit my horse very well) From the ends of the buckles its 48" and from the end of the nylon to the other end its 44". 48" makes more sense because a 38" is too small for him and my girth is too big for him but I just want to be sure

Cost to properly install cabover camper on my truck and fix the electric?
1980's Six-Pac cabover camper (similiar to the new T-100S) not installed correctly on my Toyota Tacoma. (Only two buckles on the back, none on the front and no cushion on roof of the cab).
Needs: 1) two buckles on the front 2) Cushion on cab roof 3) electric hooked-up / fixed.
What is a rough estimate to do this work?

What will happen if we paint green vinyl shutters black? Can it be done so that the surface does not buckle?
I have read that painting vinyl shutters a darker color will cause the vinyl to absorb more heat and buckle. We really want to repaint our shutters black. We have worked with Sherwin Williams to get a vinyl formula that does not use black pigment (which is apparently the culprit in absorbing too much heat). However, the blacks they have given us are not true blacks - one was more blue and one is more of a dark gray/green color. I'm tempted to just risk it and go buy the black Krylon Fusion spray paint (for plastic) and see what happens. I read that Krylon says painting a darker color over a lighter color will make the surface buckle but I'm not quite sure what that means and how long it will take. If it will destroy the shutters and be noticable, then I don't want to do it. But, if it is just a minor problem, then it may be worth it. Any suggestions/advice/comments? Thanks!

It has been 5 years and I went by the house last week and the shutters look fine. I believe the vinyl in the shutters is thick enough that it will not have a buckeling problem. (Unlike vinyl siding.)
When I painted my vinyl siding, I used the Behr Premium Plus from Home Depot. It is an excellent paint. It dries quickly and adheres like nothing I've ever used. For the shutters I used a simple black exterior latex.
I think it's safe to say that you'll be okay to paint your shutters black, but if you aren't sure, I would put a primer over the exisiting paint before painting the final color.

How can I let people in Truth or Consequences, NM know about a belt buckle for sale?
We have a belt buckle for sale on eBay that says 1964 T or C Rodeo Saddle Bronc and is marked nickle silver. It is a really neat belt buckle that is old and still wearable. How do you get a stubborn teen to "buckle down" with her school work?
She thinks she can fail Chemistry just because it's not a required course. She got behind because her eyesight is poor (we just got her new glasses) and now she just wants to give up. She'll be 17 soon. She's always been very independent and all her other teachers (I went to parent/teacher night tonight) say she is a good student and participates in class.
How do you get a stubborn teen to "buckle down" with her school work?
You should become more engaged in her work. Praise her more instead of saying anything negative. If her teachers say she is a good student, use that to your advantage. Let her know that she can do it and that you will help her along the way. Teenagers need a lot of support and love from their parents, just like anyone else. A lot of teenagers these days are not getting the support they need, and that support really needs to come from the home. Most of the time teenagers do things to get attention. This is a difficult age for them (hormones, dating, and gaining more responsibilities) so it is best for parents to just be supportive of what they do.
I can't promise that she won't be so stubborn any more, but I promise that if she just gets this extra praise and help from you (or another teacher/tutor) you will both be happier.

I told her if she failed the year that I would treat her as if she was really still a freshman. No drivers liciense, no dating, everything she has been waiting for would be pushed back a year. We have to be careful because alot of times teachers stereotype children early on and treat them that way, giving negative feedback to the children who need positive feedback the most. I sit with my daughter everyday after school and we go through each class she has, we talk about what they are covering in the class, homework for the night, upcoming projects or papers and tests. It takes time, effort and discipline on the parents part but it works, the more your involved the more you can help.
I am a single mom, have been for more than ten years. I think it's harder for us but still important for us to allow our children the childhood. If my kid wants a car, then sure gas insurance and the such she will have to pay, but she will never work because I don't make enough money, work should be an option for them because soon enough they don't get a choice

Perhaps the both of you can make it fun at home with what she is learning in chemistry. Put up charts or elements symbols in the bathroom, or up by the mirror. Try to make a game up of what she is currently learning in class. Then hopefully something will start to stick in her brain.

The thing that got me to actually try in school was thinking about my future. I knew I'd never get to do what I want if I didn't do well in highschool. I don't know how you'll get her to do that, but it worked for me. I went from C's and D's to straight A's. Good luck

How do you get a stubborn teen to "buckle down" with her school work?
You should become more engaged in her work. Praise her more instead of saying anything negative. If her teachers say she is a good student, use that to your advantage. Let her know that she can do it and that you will help her along the way. Teenagers need a lot of support and love from their parents, just like anyone else. A lot of teenagers these days are not getting the support they need, and that support really needs to come from the home. Most of the time teenagers do things to get attention. This is a difficult age for them (hormones, dating, and gaining more responsibilities) so it is best for parents to just be supportive of what they do.
I can't promise that she won't be so stubborn any more, but I promise that if she just gets this extra praise and help from you (or another teacher/tutor) you will both be happier.

Reply:My daughter had trouble just recently with failing grades, poor work habits and turning in homework. I told her if she failed the year that I would treat her as if she was really still a freshman. No drivers liciense, no dating, everything she has been waiting for would be pushed back a year. We have to be careful because alot of times teachers stereotype children early on and treat them that way, giving negative feedback to the children who need positive feedback the most. I sit with my daughter everyday after school and we go through each class she has, we talk about what they are covering in the class, homework for the night, upcoming projects or papers and tests. It takes time, effort and discipline on the parents part but it works, the more your involved the more you can help.
I am a single mom, have been for more than ten years. I think it's harder for us but still important for us to allow our children the childhood. If my kid wants a car, then sure gas insurance and the such she will have to pay, but she will never work because I don't make enough money, work should be an option for them because soon enough they don't get a choice

I have a front alloy wheel that is 'buckled' what does that mean?will it damage my car?should i get it changed
It probably means that the rim has a damage from impact - it's very common actually. The alloy rims (especially aftermarket ones) can be damaged easily when the car hits a pothole or a curb. The alloy rims are not repairable, the only solution is to replace it. And since you don't know how badly it is buckled, is it cracked or not, I'd suggest to replace it for your safety.

What sort of advertisments should there be to buckle kids up???
Despite campaigns in the past, I still see unrestrained kids every day. Kids jumping on the front seat, the back seat, and I still see parents holding theirs or other kids in their arms or on laps. I have travelled a bit, and seen what some countries do, whether it be the stock standard crash test dummies going through the windscreen, or in some countries they show real people (actors) and what happens in crashes.
What do you think should be shown to help educate people to restrain their kids. Should it be the crash test footage, eg mother holding baby on lap and smashing into windscreen, or should it be actors re creating crashes. Do you have any other suggestions????

So i was in detroit this past weekend and saw a girl in the food court wearing these very cute ballet flats....b4 i got the chance to ask where she got them from she took off....im hoping someone can help me find these or ones similar to them.
They had a round toe, a purple/magenta color, a buckle detail with then some gold trim around the top of the shoe and parallel to the buckle! I really really hope to find them or something similar. I would really appreciate pics and store names where I can find this item....ive looked everywhere online and even searched the internet with the above description
