What is a buckle fracture?

a buckle fracture is one of the simplest and easiest to heal of fractrures. think of the bone as a box-- a buckle fracture pushes one side of the "box" down while the opposite side stays mostly in place. it is seen most often in wrist fractures and usually heals in a few weeks when immobilized in a cast.

What is a buckle fracture?
buckle or torus fracture: one side of the bone bends, raising a little buckle, without breaking the other side
