nails every 6-8" thru tongue into wood sub-floor;do I need to remove the pieces all the way to the nearest wall or is there a shortcut??
Plumbing leak caused tongue %26amp; groove flooring to buckle in middle of room;best way to remove bad pieces %26amp; repl
there is a short cut. you need to cut lenghtwise in the center of the board on of the damaged piece until you get to the seam. then pry up the side with the groove. once you remove the first piece the rest will be easier to remove. you then install the pieces starting with the tongue side. when you get to the part where you started, you cut the bottom part of thegroove, apply a good quality adhesive and , slide the tongue in the groove of the attached piece. hold it down with something heavy and you should have a pretty decent fix
Reply:For the best cure I would remove the whole damaged pieces. Just because you don't see the damage doesn't mean it's not there. If you where to cut away the bad it might then warp again shortly after or only be noticeable next to new straight lengths. "If you do the fix right first you will only have to repair it once."
